Darkly Enchanting

April 21, 2008 at 8:26 pm (Darkly Enchanting)

Yes, I am posting on a monday of all things – i am sooo not a monday person nor am I a morning person. Anyway here is the basic idea of my wip that I am aiming for Nocturne Bites.

Adam is a 500 year old vampire who was tired of the city life with others of his kind so when he stumbled upon the sleepy New England town he fell in love with it at first sight. Finding a nice cottage just on the outskirts of the village he buys it without a second thought.

Samantha Deragt is a twenty-nine year old women who is Adam’s next door neighbour and she comes with more trouble then most people. Through her fathers family she had recieved the gift of being able to see the past, present and future if she touched something with her left hand which she goes around wearing a black velvet glove to prevent any unwanted visions to occur. The sleepy town call her a witch and leave her alone for most of the time unless they come to her little shop that is in her house.

Adam saves Samantha from a drunken bully and is there when she starts to recieve nasty threatening letters from someone who has a grudge against her. When the local police refuse to help Adam decides to help her himself When they find who is behind the threats and a murder the knowledge could rock the sleepy little town to it’s foundation.

Well I could go more in-depth and I already have another short story idea for the little village it is quickly becoming a safe haven for the undead but not so safe for the living.

Another lovely friday means an update!

April 18, 2008 at 5:43 pm (Darkly Enchanting)

The sun is shining and the birds are tormenting my poor cat who sits and paws at the screen door when he isn’t sleeping. On a side note I am a bad, bad writer having not posted nor updated last week but I had a major personal crisis to sort out but now hopefully I am back on track with May just around the corner bringing another seventy days of sweat to an end.

Now onto some good news! I already have a few goodies planned in the upcoming months including a week count down to the release of Vampire Oracle: Ashes. I know it isn’t until September but I will have an actual web site up and running before then and have a free read (or two if I feel very nice) posted there. Never mind another little cotest for the official launch of the site but more details when the date comes closer.

And here is this weeks writing progress.

After the Rain – Contemporary Romance – Novella – 9,010/25,000

And Now You’re Mine – Contemporary Romance – Novella – 6,000/25,000

Dangerous – Historical Novel – 14,421/90,000

The Past and the Present – Novel – 43,000/140,000

Without End – Contemporary Novella – 4,278/30,000

Plus in the past week I have started yet another project – I know when will I learn I have a full plate as it is. But I tried to ignore it but the story idea just wouldn’t leave me alone.

Darkly Enchanting – Paranormal Short – 6,221/15,000

It is a little different than what I normally write with a traditional vampire and a woman who is called a witch due to a so-called gift she was cursed with at birth. She can see the dead and see the past when she touches certain objects. I will give some more details about this project on Monday. Yes, I said Monday so come back to see what I have then.

Spring is in the air or at least I hope

March 29, 2008 at 5:08 pm (Uncategorized)

Occasionally I hear the birds chripping and the sun is shining quite a bit but the problem is the wind is still quite cold and we have loads of snow on the ground still. I am so tired of winter!!! Grr, if it wasn’t so sunny I would so totally have the winter blahs right now. I guess it could be worst but it is so getting on my nerves especially since for most of the winter I am stuck in the house unable to do anything due to the hip I am past frustrated I am getting down right vicious now. Okay rant over now back to my scheduled – but techinally a day late sweat progress.

On my various projects I have gotten a grand total of 9,548 words done this week. A little behind still but all in all I ain’t complaining. I have so many plot bunnies running around in my head that I am exhausted just thinking about it. I find I write much bettwr in the nice weather for some reason I write like a fiend then the ideas just keep coming and are so detailed. It is almost like a movie or two is playing in your mind with every piece of dialouge and hair in place.

I am so freaking tired I think I will get a little more writing done and then take a cat nap.

Another uneventful weekend has finished

March 17, 2008 at 7:55 pm (Uncategorized)

Hm, I did edit until something like 2 in the morning but being a night hawk is nothing new to me. Watching tv Saturday I realized that there is only three movies I really want to see this year so far which are – the new Batman, the new Indiana Jones and The Love Guru. I really don’t go to the movies much I think I went five times last year and four of those times was just to see Harry Potter. I quite enjoyed it I like a mix of action, plot and romance.

Of course I also did a little writing and when I say little I mean it. Seriously I think I got a whole 500 words done if I was lucky. But I was feeling down Saturday and when Iwrite when I am feeling like that it is so depressing. This week I am going to focus on Sleepless (my BIAM) because it is a bit behind on word count ok way behind on word count but I like to look on the bright side of things I got almost 11k done on a project that hadn’t even been started just three weeks ago.

A few words on my progress

March 10, 2008 at 11:43 pm (Uncategorized)

Yup, I totally did not post on the blog on Friday due to issues I did what I absolutely had to on the computer and got off it. I did some edits and some writing but overall just felt icky – not quite sick but just the winter blahs. All that snow these past few days really hasn’t helped much either something like 30 cm. Anyway without anymore rambling here is some of the progress I have done.

Sleepless – my book in a month challenge is steady at 9,400 words out of 40k. A little behind but making good progress overall.

Projects I am focusing on for Sweating are the following:

After the Rain – Novella length 1546/25000

And Now You’re Mine – Novella length 1120/25000

Dangerous – Historical Novel length – 1983/80000

No Promises – Novella length 2000/30000

Once again i would like to be a little further with the numbers but I am working at a steady pace so that is always good.

Am I still sleeping?

March 3, 2008 at 5:03 pm (Gary Oldman, Uncategorized) ()

It is the thought that has been passing though my mind since I rolled out of bed. Grabbed some breakfast and watched a bit of the KTLA news before I jumped in the shower and plopped down in front of the computer. My daily morning ritual went normal until I turned the blasted computer on i recieved an email from someone I haven’t spoken to ages and that was nice, really it was. Then I did my ritual blog roll I check out certain blogs everyday (you will find a few of them on the side bar).

Checked out Gary Oldman info to see what pic I was going to use to get me motivated – he is hot ok I think I had that discusssion here or something. Then a scrolled down my list of faves and popped into Lust Bites a deliciously naughty site from a few of the writers of Black Lace (when you want just the right touch of kink that traditional romance/mainstream fiction don’t have I recommend checking them out.) And what is the first thing I see besides a naked guy doing an off kilter head stand is the picture off to the side. It is a pic of none other than Gary Oldman first thing that popped in my head was am I on the right site? The naked guy defintely let me know that I was indeed on the right site. The second thought that popped into my head was damn these folks have some good taste!

Now all I have to do is pull myself from the pics and join Sven for another round of sweating, it is so wrong that I rather sweat with other images? Le sigh, it is time to go back to work. Until later happy reading or writing.

In the beginning there were no regrets…

March 3, 2008 at 4:36 am (Uncategorized)

Ah, yes nothing like a new round of Seventy Days of Sweat to wake you up and give a much needed kick in the seat. Seriously it is like getting a bucket of icy cold water dumped over your head when you realize what you have gotten yourself into. But it is all worth it when just after two days you type just a little over 2k it brings tears your eyes it really does. So as my title so nicely puts it as of yet I have no regrets but I know that sometime in the coming weeks Sven is seriously going to see me sweat and it isn’t going to be pretty.

On another note I soo seriously need to figure out to create my own widget/count down thingies. Everyone else has them I want one or two or maybe even five too. Wow, I just realized that I seem to love the word seriously tonight lol. I have finally finished all my first edits on my Ashes novella and all I want to do is go to sleep probably because I have been out all day yesterday and did some shopping this morning on top of writing. Yup, I really would like a nap but it would be pointless since it is basically 11:30 at night.

I am going to have a post on every friday -yup you have heard that right. Fridays are going to be my sweating with Sven detailed progress. So come back every Friday starting this week to see the sweat, tears and joy.

Just a little update

February 18, 2008 at 4:36 pm (Uncategorized)

I have once again survived Valentine’s Day and the carnage wasn’t as bad as I had been expecting. Good thing my diet doesn’t officially start until March first though or that could’ve been ugly. It was no heart shaped chocolates for me, nope instead I went directly to the easter chocolates you know those yummy cadbury chocolate eggs. I normally prefer dark chocolate or whatnot but those eggs are damn good. I better stop now before I write and dedicate poetry to them.

On the writing front I haven’t sent my edits in yet I know I am bad but I am still figuring out one little detail and then I will be done for now. Onto more writing stuff I have to admit I haven’t done much lately been too busy falling into the pit of despair that seems to open beneath my feet every February like clock work. So with that fond statement I will go and do some work practice for sweat if you may 1000 words or I shall feast in hell tonight.
