Is it good for you – love scenes

September 30, 2007 at 12:43 pm (writing)

Ok, as promised a post about the one subject that some writers dread and others just can’t get enough of – sex. Ah, the days of the birds and bees are long gone, tip toeing around whatwas once a delicate subject has gone the way of wooly mammoth. It is every where you like now a days television, movies, books, etc. But when is too much well too much? Personally I read and write everything from sweet to pretty graphic stuff probably not hardcore romance erotica but not too far off either and I can’t help if there is a line. For me I write a story then add the sex especially for my longer works if my two characters aren’t going to expire without it then they won’t be getting it on. It is all about the timing I suppose.

Then that brings up the idea of how – yes I know how it is a question of when and where and of course postioning. I like it realistic and I like to think most people do as well with the added bonus perhaps of of a hellva lot of it lol. Seriously if it is a paranormal novel with vampires I don’t want to see creatures of the night banging some poor women on the ceiling or leaving her clutching the chandelier for dear life when he forgets that well she can’t fly. A king sized bed might be a little too realistic though while a garden bench in a private garden might be fun. The possiblities are endless if you think about it. But the main question is how does the reader like it? Slow and teasing? Fast and hard? Desperate and Quick? Or lingering and romantic?

And now for some good news

August 16, 2007 at 8:01 am (Cobblestone, Vampire Oracle, writing)

I have signed the contract now I just have to submit the finished project. Cobblestone like my proposal for the Vampire Oracle series and I have Ashes. Well, I signed the contract about a week ago or so but I wasn’t allowed to say anything until everyone else in the series was notified. Then I lost my password for my wordpress account and everytime I tried to get another my internet explorer had to shut down so I gave it a few hours and here I am.

Now that I got my nerves back I can focus my attention on other things like finally digging up my notes for my main stream project – The Past and the Present. I am hoping to get a good chunk of this done before the year is out and well August is already half way over and I have a few other projects in the works.

Hmm, I think I better stop now before I give myself more work. Oh, yeah and I soon I will be doing reviews I really look forward to this. My goal is to be as honest as possible without ripping out the hearts of some people in the process, but there is so much good work if not interesting books out there that I don’t think that will be too much of a problem.

Writing in Progress

August 10, 2007 at 10:28 pm (A.J, Coffee shops, writing)

I wonder if they have a poster or a sign with this message maybe than I can plaster it on my door so no one bugs me when I am in a writing trance. Yup, I call it a writing trance one of those rare -of -lately moments when you sit to do some writing and the ideas just flow without stopping and before you know it four or more hours have passed. One of my favorite places to write is my bed (great when I am really sore but want to work) and another place is your local starbucks, second cup or williams coffee pub I love all three. Nice comfy seats, normally quiet but with headphones I hardly notice and loads of caffine (my addiction besides Gary Oldman and chocolate). But until my laptop is fixed I am stuck at my desktop slowly getting some work done. I miss A.J!!! Anyway does anyone else have a favorite place they like to write?
